🇨🇦 How Learning French Helps with Express Entry & PR

Learning French offers powerful advantages under Canada’s immigration system, especially for Express Entry candidates.

Additional CRS Points for French

Candidates with French language proficiency can earn extra CRS points, even if English is their first official language. These points can be crucial in receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

Francophone-Specific Express Entry Draws

Canada conducts Francophone and bilingual Express Entry draws, often with lower CRS cut-offs, creating better opportunities for French-speaking candidates.

Bilingual Advantage in the Job Market

Employers across Canada actively seek bilingual (English–French) professionals, improving employability and long-term settlement success.

🇫🇷 Work Permit Extension Through the Francophone Mobility Program (CLB 5)

One of the most valuable benefits of learning French is eligibility under the Francophone Mobility Program.

Extend or Obtain a Work Permit with CLB 5 French

Foreign workers who can demonstrate French proficiency at CLB 5 or higher may qualify for a Francophone Mobility Work Permit outside Quebec.

 LMIA-Exempt Work Permit

This program allows eligible applicants to receive an LMIA-exempt work permit, making it faster and easier for employers to hire or retain French-speaking workers.

 Open to Many Occupations

The Francophone Mobility Program is available for most skilled occupations, not limited to specific industries.

 Strong Pathway to PR

Gaining Canadian work experience while improving French skills strengthens eligibility for Express Entry and Francophone immigration pathways.
